Cavalea Receives Nolan Ryan Award Dana Cavalea, the New York Yankees Strength and Conditioning Coach, was recently named the recipient of the Nolan Ryan Award, sponsored by Life Fitness. The award, named after Hall of Fame Pitcher Nolan Ryan, honors an outstanding strength and conditioning coach in professional baseball. Cavalea will be honored during a pre-game ceremony during the 2010 season. The Nolan Ryan Award recognizes the strength and conditioning coach in professional baseball whose accomplishments, in the opinion of fellow members of the Professional Baseball Strength and Conditioning Coaches Society (PBSCCS), reflect an exemplary dedication to strength training and conditioning. The award also recognizes the recipient's professional and personal accomplishments as well as his integrity as a strength and conditioning coach. The winner of the Nolan Ryan Award will receive a plaque to commemorate the award, a personal letter from Nolan Ryan, and a financial stipend toward the purchase of new strength and conditioning equipment from Life Fitness. Cavalea was recognized for his achievement at the PBSCCS annual meeting earlier in the year. | Recent ArticlesLEARNING HOW TO COACH
